India is an agriculture country and near about 80% population depends upon agriculture. It is a matter of great pride to all of us that the agriculture sector has witnessed some significant achievements leading to increased production particularly, in countries like India. The agriculture research has played a significant role in increasing agricultural production qualitatively as well as quantitatively. The green revolution has been acknowledged as an important landmark in the agriculture history of India. However, in such a vast country, there is great diversity in the agricultural conditions and hence a network of agricultural universities has been established all over India to cater to the needs of the specific regions of the country and Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, Ratnagiri is one of them. Every year about 1000 agricultural graduates pass out through the agriculture education system in India. This number looks major considering the growing demand of Indian agriculture with respect to the quality food production and hi-tech agriculture.

In order to spread the knowledge of agriculture, the Govt. of India has decided to give permission to the private colleges on non- grant basis. Konkan Agricultural Education Research Institute Nivali’s Govindaraoji Nikam College of Agriculture, Mandki- Palvan is one of them affiliated to Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli. Fostering growth of knowledge and production has been the fundamental thought that has shaped G. N. College of Agriculture. It is our endeavor to generate young, dynamic graduates with practical orientation with through knowledge and provide education that is relevant for tomorrow. To develop confidence and competitiveness among the students in the present era of neck and throat competition practically in the concept of world trade organization.
